I was reading a friends blog this morning and she had posted yesterday about her visit to Wit's End. I did not know that this was a "place" that people knew of, went to & talked about!? I was also there yesterday...my kids did not listen to me once, I was feeling very tired and weary and by the end of the day I felt like "why bother scolding them AGAIN, when they won't listen anyway!?" So I decided to start my day out differently today, I read my Steams in the Desert devotional book! (I know, what a concept! Why don't I remember to do this every day?) I couldn't believe my eyes as I started to read it!!! I began to cry, because once again, God knew EXACTLY what I needed to hear today to stay strong and get through the day! It's kinda long, but I am going to share it with you & hopefully it will encourage you as it did me:)
They were at their wit's end. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. (Psalm 107:27-28)
Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner,"
Christian, with troubled brow?
Are you thinking of what is before you,
And all you are bearing now?
Does all the world seem against you,
And you in the battle alone?
Remember - at "Wit's End Corner"
Is just where God's power is shown.
Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner,"
Blinded with wearying pain?
Feeling you cannot endure it,
You cannot bear the strain,
Bruised through the constant suffering,
Dizzy, and dazed, and numb?
Remember - at "Wit's End Corner"
Is where Jesus loves to come.
Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner"?
Your work before you spread,
All lying begun, unfinished,
And pressing on heart and head,
Longing for strength to do it,
Stretching out trembling hands?
Remember - at "Wit's End Corner"
The Burden-Bearer stands.
Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner"?
Then you're just in the very spot
To learn the wonderous resources
Of Him who fails you not:
No doubt to a brighter pathway
Your footsteps will soon be moved,
But only at "Wit's End Corner"
Is the "God who is able" proved.

That's so good. And crazy that they talked about your wit's end! It's so true too. God's been showing me lately how much I try to do on my own. Every morning now I'm praying for his strength to get through the day.
That is Crazy...God style! =) How totally hillarious that he used the same exact words that I was saying yesterday! HE IS SO GOOD!!!
I use to be a single mom 3-4 days a week and people ALWAYS asked me how I did it. It was (as it still is) ALL GOD. Like you said...why dont we ALWAYS start the day with him. It really is the only thing that makes any sense! =)
that is awesome...thanks for sharing the devotional.
